New Basketball Game: Ultimate Swish

Ultimate Swish attempts to replicate a basketball shooting contest like those seen at all-star games and other events. The graphics in the game are actually very good. Your character is a fully realized and animated 3D model with realistic textures. The basketball court is very detailed and even includes a crowd in the background. Some of the animations of the ball and the net are not as good. They look clunky and awkward especially if you do not make a perfect shot. There is some music and the beginning and good sound effects during play. The crowd actually reacts to your successes and failures.

The entire point of Ultimate Swish is to make as many baskets as you possibly can in 60 seconds. You cannot directly control your character. You start on the right hand side of the basket a good distance away. You then move a little to the left after about 20 seconds. You finally move to the main free throw line in front of the basket for the final 20 seconds of play. You game ends as soon as the 60 seconds are over. There is no other gameplay mode.

Ultimate Swish is really a basic Basketball game of skill. You shoot the ball by tapping on a meter that appears on the screen next to your character. The meter looks like a cross. A basketball begins moving up and down along the vertical bar in the cross. You tap the screen to stop the ball. A second basketball then starts moving right to left along the horizontal bar. You tap a second time to stop that basketball. The locations where the balls stop on the meter determine where the actual basketball goes when the character shoots. Your main goal is to stop both balls in the center of the meter for a perfect shot.

Making perfect shots is actually pretty easy in Ultimate Swish. You can tap on your tablet and get the basketballs to stop in the center of the meter without much difficulty. There does seem to be a basic physics engine in the game. If your shot is off by a little, then the ball will bounce and roll around the rim of the basket. This allows you to score points even if the basketballs did not line up correctly in the meter. One annoying thing is that the basketball sometimes becomes stuck. It can linger on top of the basket for seconds causing you to lose time. Ultimate Swish is a well-constructed game that can be entertaining for a short time.

ENJOY THIS MOBILE GAME!
