Super Mechs

Super Mechs, the latest in the beta testing stage from Tacitsoft, combines the customization and turn-based stylings of a traditional RPG with the futuristic content and online community of a modern day multiplayer experience.
The game "Super Mechs" wastes no time in getting the player registered for its online community, a requirement to play the game. Registration was a breeze, and the main menu is logically structured. The tutorial is clear, concise, and introduces the player to the gameplay and the core concepts of the mech game, which includes fighting other mechs (both computer mechs, and against other players online), the gaining of experience and credits, and the customization of your own mech through upgrades and equipment purchases.

The gameplay itself is surprisingly fast-paced for a turn-based mech game, with enemy mechs making quick tactical decisions on the fly. As the player progresses through the game's equipment tiers, the level of difficulty logically progresses as well, and the player is expected to make purchases and battle decisions much more tactically, in order to defeat enemies with different skill sets. Sometimes, it makes the most sense to move in close to an enemy and stomp them, and other times it is the most tactful to remain at a distance and let loose with a minigun.

Players familiar with the mech phenomenon will be happy to know that there are hundreds of unique possible upgrades available for purchase and customization. It's a great deal of fun, saving up for the next most powerful weapon or module. The game also includes repair kits to be used during battles, used to restore hit points mid-game.

Super Mechs online community adds yet another dimension to the experience. Because the game is still in beta-testing, the wait times can sometimes be lengthy. But the wait is worth it, as online battles are a great way to break up grinding for gear, and are also a great way to check out other players' strategies.

Overall, Super Mechs is a great, free online game, one which I would recommend to fans of tactical, turn-based combat, and to fans of mechs or gundams. The game can be found online at this link: http://www.silvergames.com/super-mechs

Check it out for yourself! Registration is free and easy. Get yourself a mech and battle it out, with computers, and with real people online!

Super? Super Mechs!
